1) Project Description :
The project is proposed out of response to the poor conditions of Gaza Refugees Camp in Jerash city. It explores a silent culture and sort of an isolated community in order to strengthen their resilience and improve their quality of life by giving them the opportunity to be active members of society and more economically independent.
In this manner, it sought a space of encounters, meetings, participation, and expression of culture, and at the same time enhancing the citizen's connection with their own culture, sharing it, spreading it with others, and more importantly, preserving it and passing it to the following generations, in a setting that blends with the rich nature of the site.
The project honors the craft of construction with local handwork of Jerash city and Gaza Camp Refugees adapted to new, contemporary experiences.
That encounters new people; especially tourists (local and international) aiming to make it an attraction tourism point.
since Jerash city in general and the camp in particular, are districts rich in distinctive crafts, skilled craftsmen and artisans, and raw materials required to set up any cultural and handmade crafts project.
